Im Strahlenschutz werden ionisierende Strahlen und nichtionisierenden Strahlen unterschieden.
Ionisierende Strahlung
Radioaktivitt ist eine natrliche Eigenschaft einiger Atome. Instabile Atome zerfallen und senden dabei ionisierende Strahlung aus. Es sind verschiedene Strahlungsarten zu unterscheiden: - Teilchen (Neutronen, Protonen, a-Strahlung, b-Strahlung)
- Elektromagnetische Wellen (g-Strahlung, Rntgenstrahlung, Photonen)
Die ionisierenden Strahlungen kommen aus natrlichen Strahlenquellen (kosmische Strahlung aus dem Weltraum, natrliche radioaktive Stoffe im Erdboden bzw. im menschlichen Krper) und knstlichen bzw. zivilisatorischen Strahlenquellen (Strahlung durch Medizin, Industrie, Forschung, Heimanwendungen).
Beim radioaktiven Zerfall handelt es sich um eine Kernumwandlung. Ein Atom mit einem sehr instabilen Kern hat eine kurze Halbwertszeit. Die Einheit zur Angabe der Aktivitt eines radioaktiven Stoffes heit Becquerel und entspricht einer Kernumwandlung pro Sekunde.
Die wichtigsten Arten der von Atomen ausgesandten ionisierenden Strahlungen sind Alpha-, Beta- und Gammastrahlung. Rntgenstrahlen werden in einem speziellen Gert (Rntgenanlage, Beschleuniger) durch Beschuss einer Elektrode mit beschleunigten Elektronen erzeugt und sind eine Form elektromagnetischer Strahlung ohne Masse oder Ladung.
Alle diese Strahlenarten unterscheiden sich hinsichtlich ihres Durchdringungsvermgens.Nichtionisierende Strahlung
Es ist diejenige elektromagnetische Strahlung deren Quantumenergie nicht ausreicht, um ein Atom zu ionisieren. Das Spektrum der nichtionisierenden Strahlung umfasst die elektromagnetischen Felder im Frequenzbereich von 0 - 300 GHz oder einer Wellenlnge von unendlich bis 1 mm und die optische Strahlung mit einer Wellenlnge von 1 mm bis 10 nm. Zur optischen Strahlung gehren die UV-Strahlung (10 nm 400 nm), das sichtbare Licht (400 nm - 780 nm) und die Infrarot-Strahlung (780 nm -1 mm).
Diese Kategorie beschftigt sich mit den Gefahren beim Umgang mit ionisierenden und nichtionisierenden Strahlen, den Schutzmanahmen vor diesen Strahlungen und Fragen der Reaktorsicherheit.

An editor's Bookmarks are his or her own private playground. While they have the structure of ODP categories, the Bookmarks are not part of the ODP sent to third party users such as the Google Directory. Nor are the listings within Bookmarks included in ODP search results.
These are websites devoted primarily to the Mountain Dulcimer, sometimes known as the Appalachian Dulcimer, or the fretted dulcimer, or lap dulcimer. All of these names refer to a uniquely American string instrument which is part of the Fretted Zither family of musical instruments.
The Mountain Dulcimer dates back to about 1780 or so, and the history of the instrument is extremely vague and open to much speculation. It seems to have developed almost simultaneously in widely separated geographic regions of the United States, although most of the older instuments were found in the Central and Southern Appalachians.
Mountain Dulcimers are found in a breathtaking variety of different shapes and sizes, and they are made out of almost any kind of wood imaginable(and some that are pretty hard to imagine!). These instruments are a testament to American ingenuity, in that the early settlers of the Appalachians fashioned their dulcimers out of whatever local lumber they could find and with whatever crude tools they had on hand. So Mountain Dulcimer construction is essentially a folk art: it does not have its roots in a long European tradition, like Violin-making or Lute-making(lutherie).
Today, this folk art is incredibly healthy, although it has certainly been influenced by our modern technological age in countless ways: from increased access to tools, to greatly increased information-flow, to some interesting and thought-provoking cross-pollination with modern Guitar building techniques.
So many of these websites will be places where you can see catalogs of mountain dulcimers, hear some sound samples, or read about a particular craftsmen's insights on what makes a great dulcimer.
However, there is lots of MUSIC being played on the mountain dulcimer these days. In fact, I would say that the dulcimer has undergone a magnificent "Renaissance" since about 1970 or so.(this is a VERY rough date!). So, there are some very talented instructors and recording artists out there touring right now, and some of these folks have websites where you can take lessons, purchase CDs and tunebooks, and get an updated schedule of their workshops and concerts.
To start with, there will probably not be any major category breakdowns, or "sub-categories". I'm sure the number of sites will grow quite rapidly, though, and eventually there will have to be sub-categories.

Ferrofluide (Magnetische Flssigkeiten) sind stabile, kollidiale Suspensionen aus magnetisierbaren Teilchen und einer Trgerflssigkeit. Die Magnetteilchen werden dazu bei der Herstellung durch grenzflchenaktive Stoffe (Tenside) derart modifiziert, dass sie eine hnliche Struktur aufweisen, wie ihre Trgerflssigkeit, dabei haben die Teilchen einen Mindestabstand von ca. 5 nm (doppelte Tensidschichtdicke). Das ist neben der Gre der Teilchen (bis etwa 20 nm) die Grundvoraussetzung, um ein Entmischen zu verhindern. Als Material für die Magnetteilchen wird am hufigsten Magnetit (Fe3O4), Maghemit (γ-Fe2O2), Kobalt (Co), Eisen (Fe) oder Eisennitrid (FexN) eingesetzt, aber es sind auch andere magnetische Legierungen anzutreffen. Die seit jngster Zeit untersuchten Metallkerne (Fe, Co, FeCo) sind
recht vielversprechend. Bei der Trgerflssigkeit handelt es sich meist um Kohlenwasserstoffe (Oktan, Petroleum, le u..) und ihre Verbindungen (z.B. Fluorkohlenwasserstoffe) oder auch Wasser.
