In the Beginning
The story of football began sometime during the 19th century in England when a soccer player, frustrated at using only his feet to manipulate the ball, decided to simply pick it up and run with it. Although it was clearly against the rules of soccer, other players soon found the new way of playing soccer appealing and thus, the sport of rugby was born.
The new sport soon became a world-wide success that found its way into America by the mid-1800s. Played by many northeastern colleges, it was not long before Harvard University and Yale University met in Massachussetts in 1876 to formalize the rules to rugby that were similar to those in England. There were differences however: instead of playing with a round ball, the schools opted for an egg-shaped and the game's name was changed from rugby to football. To finalize the meeting, an organization called the Intercollegiate Football Association(IFA) was created to preside over the Americanized sport.
Football was still mainly American rugby--much different from the popular sport known today. Over the course of three years starting in 1880, Yale player Walter Camp eventually convinced the IFA to change a series of rules in football to create a game that is very similar today. For that, Camp is considered by historians as the father of modern football.

Nationalizing the Game
College football matured through the 1800's in a league of its own until the beginning of the twentieth century when professional football teams began appearing. By that time, college sports fell under the newly-established National College Atheletic Association(NCAA) so the rules of professional football were derived from the collegiate organization's guidelines.
When 1920 arrived, there more than 10 professional teams across the United States. Organizers from the teams decided to meet in Canton, Ohio to form the American Professional Football Association(APFA) which later became the National Football League(NFL). The NFL further changed the rules as football began to solidify as an all-American past time.

Becoming a Popular Sport in America
From the time of the NFL's establishment, football made head-way in popularity with the population. The games played by the Chicago Bears versus teams like the Los Angeles Tigers and the New York Giants featured Harold (Red) Grange, the fresh-out-of-college rookie star who helped draw record numbers of fans into the stands. After the NFL divided into two divisions, the culmination of the best teams from those sections played the first NFL championship game in 1933.
As football became a favorite with Americans, many leagues soon followed the NFL in trying to establish their own franchise. The NFL's dominance was so pervasive that many did not even last beyond four years. Under millionaire Lamar Hunt, however, the American Football League (AFL) was the only lasting follow-up league that was able to keep up with the NFL. Soon thereafter, both leagues fought to draft star college players, television contracts, and other perks generated from football's popularity with the NFL often besting the AFL most of the time.
In another historic moment in football history, representatives from both the NFL and the AFL met in 1966 to agree on merging both leagues, but keeping the NFL name. Within the new league which actually began in 1970, two conferences were created that reflected the NFL's origins: the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference(NFC). From then on, those two sides of the NFL were to play its best teams in a championship game later named the Super Bowl starting with the champions from the NFL and the AFL.

Football Presently
One of the top sports in America, football has come a long way from the rebelling college students who want to play something that was more fun. With the introduction of the television which greatly increased football's accessibility to more parts of the United States and the merger of the NFL and the AFL, football would become the most-watched television show as well as being very profitable. The titanic flood of fan interest generated billions of dollars by the 1990s for the profession which eventually trickled down to the players' salaries.
If change was how football began, it is change that has kept the sport's popularity high. Continually, the rules governing football have evolved throughout the years to generate fan interest. For example, newly enacted rules in the 1970s that promoted the risky throwing of the ball as opposed to running with it. In 1994, a greater emphasis was drawn from field goals to the two-point conversion. Completing the full circle, modern football still places fun as its top priority.

REBOL is a messaging language for distributed Internet applications that run across all devices. It is pronounced like the word "rebel".
REBOL was designed over a 20 year period by Carl Sassenrath, the system architect responsible for the world's first multitasking multimedia operating system (OS), the Commodore Amiga OS. The first REBOL implementation was released in 1997 to a small group of users running on three OSs, and today REBOL has grown to reach more than 1,000,000 users running on more than 40 OS platforms.
REBOL is not a traditional computer language like C, BASIC, or Java. Instead, it was designed to solve one of the fundamental problems in computing: the exchange and interpretation of information between distributed computer systems. REBOL accomplishes this through the concept of relative expressions, which is how REBOL got its name as the Relative Expression-Based Object Language. Relative expressions, also called "dialects", provide greater efficiency for representing code as well as data, and they are REBOL's greatest strength. For example, REBOL can not only create a graphical user interface in one line of code, but it can also send that line as data to be processed and displayed on other Internet computer systems around the world.
REBOL's consistent architecture provides powerful range of abilities, from its small kernel interpreter (REBOL/Core) up to an entire Internet Operating System (REBOL/IOS).

Soaring or Gliding is an aviation sport. Gliders or sailplanes use "lift" or up-draft from various causes to stay aloft and fly to altitudes in excess of 40,000 feet. Glider pilots obtain an FAA license in the USA and can travel hundreds of miles in a flight. Sailplanes can be launched with other motorpowered airplanes, winch launched or have their own motors.
Soaring is the sport to reach goals in altitude, distance or duration these may be personal or competitive. Also glider pilots engage in acrobatic flight.
The thing few want to say openly to the general population, but I will say, is that cloning and other scientific capabilities now, and yet to be, developed were, and are, meant to be discoverable and used by evolutionarily advance beings in order that they might survive. It is the first step in Transhumanism, where the human species advances to the next quantum stage in evolution.
The design of life includes the key to immortality. It takes work and survival to reach. This is normal. People fear it understandably. I don't. I embrace it.
It is part of the, at this stage, incomprehensible plan of the designing force: God if you like. It holds the start of all the potential waiting after getting beyond the animal-only stage in our evolution.
Highly advanced as we are, we are therefore poised at the threshold of being able to use all of the materials of the universe to continue to evolve. It is up to us to go forward as our ancestors went, and we go, forward on the oceans and in the air and into space. This is why it is especially worth living.
The future (near) holds the most exciting potential to go beyond even our wildest imaginations. Picture a world and beyond with no disease, no mental illness, no poverty, no brutality, no war, no pain and suffering where we can learn everything and go anywhere and do anything. These things will come to pass provided we tell ourselves that the gift is right there waiting.
Levels of intelligence will grow geometrically, and the inevitable result will be peace. The opposite of peace is too stupid to be perpetuated by such beings of high intelligence.
We will change our brains through immediate scientific technological interventions that will enhance our abilities to move beyond all of what we call evil in current humans.

Tie-dye originally meant the binding of a piece of material in such a way as to create a resist to the dye thereby causing a white or light colored pattern.
For example, a piece of material can just be twisted as if you were ringing it out and then bound to keep it that way. When this material is dunked in a dye vat it will absorb dye except in areas that are masked by the other material or string. The Japanese have developed this traditional tie-dye method, called Shibori in Japan, into a quite amazing art form.
This all changed with the invention of procion dye in the 1950's. Procion dye can be applied cold and without harsh chemicals. Now colors could be dripped on, and more than one color could be applied at one time. For example the classic spiral is twisted into a rough circle, and the dye is applied in pie-shapes.
The word tie-dye is often used to describe shirts that are a combination of tie-dye and screen-printing. Here the tie-dye is essentially a background. I personally do not think that these products belong in this category, but in a category for imprinted shirts with a subcategory for tie-dye backgrounds or whatever.
I hope to include a large variety of quality tie-dye in this category, and would be glad to have any suggestions anyone might have.

Sustainable agriculture is a long term concept. The long term nature of the concept implies use of renewable or reusable resources rather than consumption and exhaustion of finite resources. Sustainable agriculture means a system that over many years, is environmentally neutral or beneficial, is economically viable, and produces good quality food and fiber in large quantities to meet world needs. Short sighted agricultural practices and increasing population pressures have resulted in degradation of farm, range, and forest lands in many parts of the world. If this trend continues it will inevitably lead to reduced production capacity in affected regions. Maintaining and increasing yields (production per unit of area) under sustainable systems will mean that less rather than more of the earth's surface area will be needed for production of food and fiber to support our population. To develop systems of sustainable agriculture, we (the agricultural community and the public) must gain a detailed understanding of the interactions of the various processes (biological, physical/chemical, economic, and social) comprising agricultural systems. Then we can identify situations where environmental or social damage may occur and attempt to predict the consequences
of modifying those component processes of agricultural systems subject to human control. Changing a complex system to reduce one problem will often result in creating other problems of equal or greater magnitude if the system is not well understood. Thus, for example, a simple switch from "conventional" agricultural techniques to some form of "organic" techniques does not necessarily lead to a more sustainable agricultural system but may result in severe environmental and social problems. Sustainable agriculture must be socially equitable. Both the agricultural producers and consumers must divide the costs, bear the burdens, and enjoy the benefits. These must be shared equitably for a system to be sustainable.
In this century, for the first time in human history, humanity has the opportunity to plan and organize our future on a global scale. Also for the first time, human technology has become sufficiently advanced to threaten the habitability of our planet on the same global scale if technology continues to be applied to the environment without consideration of the consequences. Agriculture - farming, stock raising, and forestry - is one area of human activity that has great potential to either harm or improve our environment.
My goal is to put links here to sites with interesting and valuable information on sustainable ag systems, and projects, techniques, theories, discussion fora, etc. that apply to sustainability. The base assumption is that is a complex problem that will need the input and support of all strata of humanity in the coming century.
